Burkert Type 8626 mass flow meters are compact devices that monitor the mass flow of gases. They control the set flow rate regardless of disturbances such as pressure drops or temporary flow resistance. The flow regulator consists of a flow meter, an electronic module, and a proportional valve. The built-in sensors operate in CTA mode (constant temperature anemometers). In this case, the electric heating resistor and the measuring resistor are adjusted to a constant temperature difference. One resistor is located directly in the gas flow, and three resistors are located outside it. All resistors are connected in an electrical bridge. The first resistor measures the temperature of the liquid. The second, low-resistance resistor is constantly heated to maintain a precisely defined excess temperature relative to the temperature of the liquid. Because the resistors are located directly in the channel, the devices have excellent dynamics: the response time when the setpoint or actual value changes is in the hundredths of a millisecond range. In addition, the sensor is virtually contamination-free.
